    Don't know, what the regs are for modified, but I think there is a rule about engine replacements as long as they don't exceed the power output of the original..

    adrs didn't come in until late 60's or mid 70's

    you could register an original probably pretty straightforward or even a home built replica if you jump through some small hoops. Building a replica could be a great school project

    That's true too......but my car is a piece of shit,and needs to be replaced..........not my fault if an inattentive driver and their insurance policy comes to the party...........
