Yeah but you can't light a spliff off an induction stove

Like I said before with no comments made, Electrolux owns more brands than you would ever dream of.

actually if you got it lit it would be the FIRST drawback. (or it wouldn't be a drawback... i'm confused.)

Don't you need special frypans etc?

We got a Westinghouse gas cooktop - goes well.

Gotta Westinghouse gas oven with electric grill. Wouldn't go there again. Cooks like Doggles oven - burnt side & a raw side.

We just use stainless steel or cast iron pots and pans.

I'd never go back to gas either.

I recently cooked at the inlaws place with induction and wasn't impressed.

Give me a gas cook top any day.

We have electric at the moment and it is shit.

Gas is good for cooking (good/quick heat control), but is a bugger to clean.

What's not to like about it? Instant heat control. No radiated heat. Heats faster than anything. On the lowest setting it will melt chocolate without a double boiler.

Plus they are the easiest cooktop to clean.

    Normal electric is shit.

    I guess it's about feel.

With induction there is nothing, with gas you can see what is going on and you get feedback if that makes sense.

Plus, we camp a lot using gas cookers and I cook a lot of our food on the BBQ so there is consistency if I have a gas cook top as well.

Had another negative report on Smeg today, from a bloke.

He has one with LOTS of problems & Smeg don't want to know him.

I would vote for Meile or Bosch both made in Germany .....and we all know that the Germans have a long and proud history of making ovens.......
