    Default ggrrrrr-RRRRRRRRRRR!!!

Last night, some lowlife ....................[insert many many adjectives here] decided to try to steal my poor Alfa.
Busted the door lock out of the door & completely disgorged the ignition barrel.
Didn't take anything from the car, so I figured they wanted a nice ride for the night...

I think the only reason they didn't bother stealing it in the end is because i'd only returned the day before from a 600-odd km trip and the fuel tank was nearly dry... No fuel stations open around here within 300 kms at night, so not much joy.

What the heck posesses some people? I've got a nice car. It's fucking fast, looks neat (nothing too flashy) It's a little different. I'm the only person within 500kms with an Alfa and the local police know this (for the wrong reasons, I admit...). What the feck do they think - that i'm gonna let them get away with it? That i'm gonna LIKE having them nick it, thrash the bejeezus out of it, then park it sideways in a ditch & burnt out? Why do people not show any respect for another man's gear any more? Have we brought up a generation of self-obsessed retards that can't think?

If I catch them, i'm gonna make Hitler look like a fucking angel, for sure. Genocide may not be accepted practice in modern society, but you can sure bet that i'll make sure their entire bloodline disappears.

GRR!!! I've been so shitted off about this all day. Just had to blow off somewhere. Where's my hammer. I'll go bash some nail heads for a while & try to be constructive in my rage.

You have the advantage of living in a country town, so it probably won't be too hard to find out who it was.
    See my post under P-platers.
    Barely adequate.

Third party property doesn't cover break ins unfortunately. They wanted nearly double what I paid for the car because of what it is. >

On the upside, I have a set of locks somewhere off one that I parted out so it shouldn't be too hard a fix. Just time to do it.

Already hit the small town stonewall. Got some lads from work working on getting me a sledge hammer.
Police have the poops over it - I wouldn't leave until their fingerprinting person showed up - now they have paperwork to do that'll make them look bad.

FYI, they had someone break into the bank a few weeks ago & steal the ATM. Officers on scene didn't notice the hole in the wall... Rang security co to shut off the alarm & went home. They're under a bit more of a watchful eye at the moment for some reason...

Half the population of your town would immediately come under suspicion.
My ex boss' missus was mugged in broad daylight there and relieved of about $10,000.Half the town knew who did it, but the "cone of silence" descended and not a word was said despite the fact that the money she was carrying was for that half of the population.
I have a friend who is restoring one of those machines, and I'm sure he has plenty of spares should you need any.Get in touch if you need anything.

PS. I spent some of the best years of my life in Walgett, but I lived out of town, except when I returned as a locum .It's the people who make the place.

Wouild it be an offence, in Au, to gutshoot someone and leave them on the side of the road to die? Just wondered. It would be frowned upon here. Bob? SC have a view?

When I trtavelled through, it was a while ago now, I was told that the business owners in Walgett lived in Lightning Ridge, is that true today?

No, most of them live in an area of town known locally as the "White Mission".
They wouldn't be caught dead living with the rock lickers
