12Volt light bars

With driving lights I like to have one spot (to see well ahead) and one spread (to see more on the periphery) … my concern with LED light bars is that they won’t give me the same level of spot.

Hence why I’m still using my old Hella Rallye driving lights.

My Hilux had a pair of Cibie Turini’s, 1 pencil beam and 1 cornering beam. They were brilliant. Should never have left them on it when I sold it.

Currently have a cheap set of IPF lights, they are adequate as someplace to store the covers that came with them, and as far as light goes, I reckon it shines brighter out of my arse when I bend over.

Couple of blokes at work have light bars, they reckon they do the job well, can have spot and spread in the same bar so that box is ticked.

A lot of blokes have told us that.:grinning:

He’s a popular lad up there on the border.

Sorry to digress but back on topic, I have a fairly biggish lightbar on the old tractor, it has spread on the two sides and pencil beams in the centre, it is 120w and about 600mm long, it lights up the paddocks like daylight and this is about 5-6 years old.
I believe the newer ones are better.
Now you all go back to discussing MB’s arse and artificial daylight.

Can you find a brand name, Ive thought long and hard about ones from a tractor. Then have a truck air horn.

Used to have airhorns/spot lights combo setup on a bashed mini in my yoofful days. One flick of a well hidden switch 4 hella driving lights and twin truck air horns all came on at once. Had to use spare battery and air compressor tank in the boot.

Wouldn’t sit on the front of your car anyway, unless it was to leave a kanga on the bonnet. :full_moon:
