The Beer Prayer

Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink,
Thy will be drunk,
(I will be drunk),
At home as I am in the tavern.
Give us this day our foamy head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us,
and lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers,
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever,

I’ll drink to that.

Bourbon 🥃

I think that I will never hear
A word as lovely as a Beer

From golden base to foaming cap
The corner pub has some on tap

I can drink the lovely stuff all day
Until my memory fades away

Now poems are made by fools I fear
But only Tooths can make a beer.

Except for the last line the poem works. Parrot dog, Coronado, ballast point and 1000s of craft brewers all make better beer than that
